Asian Sailing Championships is set to offer Paris Olympics quota.

A lot of sporting events are lined up in the upcoming week of the Indian sports calendar. Asian Sailing Championships is set to offer Paris Olympis qualifying quotas in the upcoming few days. The Indian women’s cricket team are scheduled to take on mighty Australia in yet another home series. Meanwhile, the Hockey 5 Nations Tournament has not started on a positive note with both men’s and women’s team lost the opening two encounter respectively.

Here we take a look at the events to follow in the upcoming week (December 18-24) in the Indian sports calendar.

Cricket

After a comfortable test series win against England, Indian women’s team is scheduled to take on mighty Australia – Test and ODIs. On the other hand, the Indian men’s team after losing the second T20I, bounced back to level series by winning the decider.

Football

Several teams are on the verge of completing half the number of matches played this season. FC Goa continue to lead the points table with 20 points followed by Kerala Blasters and Mohun Bagan FC. However, Mohun Bagan have played fewer matches than the top two sides and have a good chance occupying the pole position in the coming week.

Hockey

Both the Indian men’s and women’s team lost the opening two matches in the ongoing Hockey 5 Nations Tournament 2023. The women’s team in particular had a good chance of winning the opening encounter after leading (2-1) against host Spain but succumbed under pressure. The men on the contrary are putting up a sub-par performance post winning the Asian Games 2023.

Sailing

Tokyo Olympian Vishnu Saravanan has started Asian Championships on a positive note and is currently placed second in ILCA 7. The top two sailors at the end of the tournament, receive automatic qualification for Paris Olympics 2024.
