Indian Sports Calendar in 2023: Events to watch in fourth week of November

The Indian football team will face Qatar in a marquee clash after Kuwait triumph.

A lot of sporting events are lined up in the upcoming week of the Indian sports calendar. The badminton action continues to move ahead in the Asian leg with top Indian shuttlers including HS Prannoy and Satwik-Chirag taking part. Meanwhile, Asian Para Archery Championship is set to offer 10 Paralympics quota spots and several Indians are scheduled to participate in the continental competition.

Here we take a look at the events to follow in the upcoming week (November 20-26) in the Indian sports calendar:

Archery

A total of 10 Paralympic quota places are up for grabs at the continental event. Asian Para Games 2023 medallists Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar to name a few will be spearheading the Indian contingent. The former has already secured a quota in the women's compound after winning silver at the World Para Archery Championships in July.

  • November 16-25: Asian Para Archery Championships

Badminton

The badminton action shifts to China for BWF China Masters. This will be the last tournament for players to secure ranking points for qualification to the BWF World Tour Finals 2023. India's top-ranked shuttlers HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen are scheduled to be in action.

  • November 21-26: BWF China Masters

Cricket

A few days post the completion of the ICC Cricket World Cup, the action shifts T20 format with Australia taking on hosts India in a five-match series. Several top players from either side will be rested for the competition.

  • November 23-03 December: Australia tour of India

Football

After winning the opening encounter against Kuwait, the Indian men's football team will be back home to take on higher-ranked Qatar on November 21 in Odisha for AFC World Cup Qualifiers. Manvir Singh's lone goal enabled India to collect all three points and are currently placed second in Group A.

Shooting

The season-ending tournament is scheduled to be held in Doha, Qatar for nearly a week. A total of 12 Indian shooters will be participating in the tournament in nine different disciplines. After achieving success at Asian Games and Asian Shooting Championships, the squad will look to end the season on a high.

Tennis

Three Indian tennis players will be in action next week at the ATP 100 Valencia Challenger. The newly formed pair of Jeevan and Vijay Sundar have combined pretty well and reached two successive finals in last two weeks. The duo will look to continue their prime form in the upcoming Challenger.
