The IND vs SA ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final will take place in Barbados on June 29.
The Aiden Markram-led South Africa will take on Rohit Sharma-led India in the grand finale of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. This high-stakes clash will be played at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, in Barbados on June 29.
This will be the first time South Africa will play a men’s T20 World Cup final, whereas India have previously played two men’s T20 World Cup finals until now. The Men in Blue won the inaugural tournament in 2007 under the leadership of MS Dhoni, but lost the 2014 final against Sri Lanka.
In the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, both India and South Africa are undefeated till now. Both sides topped their respective groups in the group stage and Super 8 round.
In the first semi-final, the Markram-led South Africa crushed Afghanistan by nine wickets. In the second semi-final, the Rohit-led India defeated defending champions England by 68 runs in Guyana.
India and South Africa have played 26 matches against each other in the T20Is. The Men in Blue hold an edge with 14 victories, while the Proteas won 11 games. One match between both sides ended without a result.
Is there any reserve day for the IND vs SA final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024?
Yes, the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final between India and South Africa has been allotted a reserve day. If the final doesn’t get completed on the scheduled match day (June 29) due to rain or any other factors, then it will move into the reserve day, Sunday, June 30.
It is to be noted that an additional 190 minutes are allocated for completing the SA vs IND final on the scheduled match day. A minimum of 10 overs per side is required to have a result. If the final gets underway on June 29 but doesn’t get completed, then it will resume on June 30 from where it was left on the previous day.
