WWE has signed massive media deals back in 2019, where Raw’s television rights were owned by NBC and SmackDown’s television rights were owned by Fox. WWE sold the rights for five years for more than $1 Billion each. Since both the deals are coming to an end next year, negotiations to bid the media rights for the next few years will begin sometime in 2024.

It is previously reported that Amazon and Disney are believed to be the top contenders to negotiate the media deals with WWE. It is now reported that Amazon could likely grab the media rights of one the premium weekly television shows of WWE.

WWE Raw to Amazon

Sports Business Journal predicts that Amazon could grab the broadcast rights of the premium weekly television show WWE Raw and would keep it on Monday Nights. This could boost Amazon’s prime subscription among young males and it could give the company and could give WWE another night for live programming on Prime Video.

Sports Business Journal reports,

“Amazon gets ‘WWE Raw’ rights and keeps the series on Monday nights. This hits an audience of young males, a demo where Amazon believes it sees growth in Prime subscriptions. Plus, it gives the company another night of live programming on Prime Video.”

Dave Meltzer reacts to the report and states,

“Amazon’s approach can be so much deeper than others. You subscribe to Prime to get WWE Raw, you get free shipping on products. You get products that you wouldn’t have normally purchased, many produced by Amazon themselves.”

WWE’s existing media rights of Monday Night Raw is with the NBC Universal and it is expected to endy by October 2024. It was previously reported that SmackDown will be moving to Raw’s long time telecast partner’s home USA network and NXT was moved to The CW Network.

If Amazon potentially grabs the three hour show, Raw it could be a great deal and would play out great. It was also previously reported that WWE is reaching negotiations with Warner Bros Discovery. However we need to wait until an official deal is made and reported officially.
