BGMS 2: Teams to watch out for in Playoffs
Fan favorites Team Soul and XSparks will look to make a comeback.
The Season 2 of the eagerly anticipated series BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) has been filled with thrilling combats and exciting qualification rounds. The series has now completed its league stages and will now be headed towards playoff and Finals.
Blind Esports, Team Insane, Global Esports, and Marcos Gaming have topped the overall leaderboard and have become the four teams to directly qualify for the Grand Finals. The teams ranked at 5th-20th will compete in Season 2’s Playoffs for the available 12 slots in this stage. However, Revenant, Godlike Esports, Spy, and True Rippers found themselves at the bottom of the standings after Super Weekend 2, culminating their BGMS 2023 campaign on a disheartening and unsatisfactory note.
This edition has witnessed some shocking elimination and some underdogs dominating the combats. Teams such as Insane and WSG Gaming have ensured their presence in the game, even when competing against renowned and legendary opponents. The overall leaderboard has been into a lot of shuffle. Each week different teams have taken charge of domination. While some fall prey to the early wins, some remain to grab enough points to stay at the top of the scoreboard.
As the series moves towards its final leap let's have a look at teams to look out for in the playoffs.
1. Gladiators Esports
Gladiators Esports just missed the mark of a few points to grab the qualification cut-off. The team looked more confident in the Super Weekend. Although the final day of Super Weekend didn't quite favor their way. The squad has performed exceptionally well throughout the tournament and can be one of the finalists.
2. WSG Gaming
The squad did not perform well in the initial phase of the BGMS. But the last few weeks have witnessed an outshining performance. They need to be more consistent in their performance and grab more finish points. The playoffs could be an opportunity for them to grab the attention of the fans in the Indian gaming arena.
3. Team Soul
The inaugural edition champions and the most fan-loved team have somehow seemed lost in the recent BGMI tournaments. It took weeks for the legendary team to grab back their title ‘WWCD’ in BGMS season 2. Yet they have managed to grab the top 16 spots in the playoffs. All the eyes would be set on this team to bring back those glory days of Team Soul.
4. Lucknow Giants
The underdog team has outshined in the last league week and Super Weekend 2. They have managed to earn more finishes and points to grab their top spot. The squad headed by the eldest player in BGMI has changed the stats and predictions of the edition. It would be exciting to see what new this emerging team could bring.
5. Team XSpark
The team starring ‘Scout’ has been amongst fans' favorite and most talked about team in the whole edition. The team performed pretty well in the initial phase and gave an entitled return for ‘Scout’.Yet the team missed the mark in the last league week. Their presence is going to give tough competition in the playoffs.
A total of 16 teams will face off in the Playoffs, scheduled for August 22nd and 23rd, with only six matches taking place for these two days.
