The midfielder is currently the top scorer for Real Madrid

Every time Jude Bellingham steps onto the Real Madrid pitch, he is allegedly breaking a little-known La Liga law, but he will have no intention of stopping anytime soon.

The 20-year-old, who cost £113 million to go from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, is the highest goalscorer in Spain’s top league and dominates the Bernabeu with 13 goals.

Bellingham has already received advice from former Madrid supporter Gareth Bale, who spent eight trophy-filled seasons with the team, encouraging him to play the “game” of the media there.

However, it seems Bellingham has chosen to read Bale’s work on his own.

Bellingham, like Bale and other celebrities, plays with holes cut into the rear of his socks; nevertheless, AS notes that this is technically prohibited in La Liga.

That hasn’t stopped other stars from doing the same. Brahim Diaz, Bellingham’s teammate at Real Madrid, said he had been mimicking Bellingham’s tendency for a few seasons. Players wear it for medicinal reasons rather than as a hippie fashion remark.

Football players make their stockings looser by chopping holes in them. Cramping may result from reduced blood flow caused by the tighter socks.

As a result, when players disregard their harsh regulation, La Liga referees politely ignore it. This raises the issue, though: why even have the rule?

Conor Gallagher and Bukayo Saka are two additional supporters of this medical breakthrough who choose a more lenient feel on their calves.
