Skriniar will join Presnel Kimpembe on the sidelines with an ankle injury

After injuring his ankle following Paris Saint-Germain’s Trophée des Champions triumph over Toulouse FC on Wednesday, Milan Skriniar, 28, will be sidelined for an extended period.

Skriniar, who came off the bench in the 71st minute of Wednesday’s 2-0 triumph at the Parc des Princes, was a free agent when he joined PSG from Inter Milan in the summer.

According to RMC Sport, Les Parisiens are now bracing for the worst for Skriniar and thinks that his left ankle injury will keep him out of action for several months. The Slovakian international may perhaps miss the remainder of the season due to surgery, which is a possibility.

“Milan Skriniar will be absent for several months and may not play again this season. The defender got injured against Toulouse, apparently in the area around the ankle. The possibility of surgery is mentioned for Skriniar,” states RMC Sport.

Presnel Kimpembe, who just had operations on his ankle, is going to be joining him on the sideline. After having surgery on his Achilles tendon injury for the second time later in January, the Frenchman, who hasn’t played since February 2023, may return before the season is out.

Skriniar was replaced by Lucas Beraldo, who made his PSG debut. The Brazilian may now feature more frequently in the upcoming days, weeks, and months.

With Kimpembe recovering from surgery, Hakimi in the Africa Cup of Nations, and Mendes still out of commission, PSG will now need to adapt in defence. Lucas Beraldo’s hiring occurs at the ideal moment.

Although the precise nature of the issue is unknown, the defender will certainly be out of both legs of Real Sociedad’s Champions League last-16 match.

According to certain sources, his season may be done. It’s not ruled out that surgery could be required to fix the issue.
