Bournemouth not looking to sell Dominic Solanke in January despite Newcastle interest
Dominic Solanke has scored 12 goals in the league this season
Dominic Solanke is not wanted by Bournemouth to be sold this month, thus Newcastle’s query about him has been turned down, the Telegraph reports. Eddie Howe, the head coach of Newcastle and a former Cherries manager, has been a longtime admirer of Solanke to bring him to the Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth are keen to hold onto the 26-year-old until the end of the summer even though they might profit handsomely from their money invested in the player, who they purchased from Liverpool five years ago for a fee of £19 million.
Additionally hesitant to approve a contract with strikers Dango Ouattara and Antoine Semenyo for the Africa Cup of Nations is Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola.
Given his strong success this season, Bournemouth is “bracing themselves for bids” from big Premier League rivals. Spurs are allegedly closely monitoring Solanke as they continue to search for a Harry Kane successor.
After the skipper of England moved to Bayern Munich for a fee of £100 million, the club has not signed an alternative.

In the Cherries this campaign, Solanke continues to be in outstanding form, tallying 11 goals in the Premier League, including a hat-trick in their thrilling 3-2 victory against Nottingham Forest this past Saturday.
Scouts will continue to keep an eye on Solanke throughout the New Year as the club keeps an eye on him in anticipation of a possible summer transfer.
Any offer for Solanke might help Liverpool since it is said they have a 20% sell-on clause remaining from their £24 million transfer of the striker in 2019.
After finding it difficult to establish himself at Chelsea and subsequently Liverpool, Solanke has needed some time to settle into the Premier League.
His poor form persisted at Bournemouth, where he finished his first complete Premier League season with just four goals.
