Suresh Raina to join Lucknow Super Giants as mentor? Ex-CSK legend drops a massive hint
Suresh Raina played for the Chennai Super Kings for 11 seasons in the IPL.
There is a buzz around the former Indian limited over specialist batter Suresh Raina, who is set to join Lucknow Super Giants as a mentor. Gautam Gambhir left the Lucknow camp last month and joined Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming season of the IPL 2024. Raina is currently not part of any Indian Premier League team apart from the commentary panel.
Suresh Raina’s reply to a journalist’s tweet has sparked a massive rage as Lucknow fans are so keen to know about their new mentor. Raina’s tweet is also a massive hint of him joining the team and now the fans are expecting an official announcement soon from the franchise and the former Indian cricketer. Suresh Raina has been a magnificent player in the T20 format.
Rains drops a major hint
As the rumours were picking up about Suresh Raina joining the Lucknow camp soon as a mentor, a journalist was quick to respond and term this the most bogus news. After that, former Indian middle-order batter Suresh Raina also responded to the journalist with a counter question. Raina on X (formerly Twitter) replied, “Why? Your news can’t be rite (right) all the time?.”
Suresh Raina is currently involved with the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association as a Brand Ambassador and plays a crucial role in the federation. He was involved actively in the Uttar Pradesh T20 (UPT20). Suresh Raina has played 205 IPL games in his career and scored 5528 runs at an average of 32.52, his strike rate has also been impressive and stands at 136.73 with a century and 39 fifties.
Lucknow Super Giants parted ways with Gautam Gambhir last month when he decided to shift his base to Kolkata Knight Riders. Lucknow had a major shift in their support staff as before Gautam Gambhir, head coach Andy Flower also resigned from his post and joined Royal Challengers Bangalore. Suresh Raina will be a useful addition to the Lucknow camp considering his impressive IPL career and local touch.
