Adelaide Strikers defeated Hobart Hurricanes by 8 wickets in the 33rd match of BBL 2023-24.

A brilliant batting display from Jake Weatherald and captain Mathew Short helped Adelaide Strikers register a stunning win over Hobart Hurricanes at Blundstone Arena. Strikers’ Weatherald and Adam Hose (25*) stitched a match-winning partnership of 108 runs for the third wicket and comfortably chased down the target of 168 runs. Adelaide Strikers have kept their hopes alive for the playoffs while the road seems to be closed for Hobart Hurricanes. Strikers’ Mathew Short continued his good run with the bat and scored 39 runs in 25 balls.

Batting first, Hobart Hurricanes posted 167 runs in 20 overs, but Jake Weatherald’s knock helped his side chase the total in just the 16th over. Strikers’ Jake Weatherald made an impactful comeback and smashed 80 runs in 32 balls for his side. In his innings, Wetharald smashed 9 fours and 5 big sixes. Adam Hose also remained unbeaten and scored 25 runs. Adelaide Strikers have a must-win game left in the BBL 2023-24 against Sydney Thunder on 14th January.

Adelaide Strikers have jumped to fourth place in the BBL 2023-24 points table after a magnificent win over Hobart Hurricanes.
