Former Indian all-rounder Kapil Dev is 5th leading six-hitter in test cricket. ‘Haryana Hurricane’ Kapil Dev had a record-breaking career for team India in red-ball format and was India’s leading wicket-taker as well as leading six-hitter for long time. Kapil Dev finished his test career with 61 sixes in test cricket. Kapil has played 131 test matches and scored 5248 runs.
4. Sachin Tendulkar – 69 :
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar was the one to break Kapil’s record for India in test cricket. In his 24-year long cricket career, Sachin Tendulkar played 200 test matches and smashed 69 sixes in test cricket. Sachin has been one of the most disciplined batter for India in international cricket. He is also the leading run-scorer in red-ball format with 15921 runs.
3. Rohit Sharma – 77 :
Current Indian captain is also leading the tally with 77 sixes in test cricket. Rohit Sharma has been on a six-hitting spree in international cricket in 2023. Rohit has recently broken the record of smashing most number of sixes in international cricket as well as completing 300 ODI sixes. Rohit Sharma has scored 3677 runs in his 52 test matches.
2. MS Dhoni – 78 :
Former Indian captain MS Dhoni is second leading six-hitter for India in red-ball format. MS Dhoni started his career with a bang and batted with aggressive intent but soon the maturity hit with captaincy responsibility. MS Dhoni finished his 90-match test career with 78 sixes in red-ball format. He scored 4876 runs at a magnificent average of 38.09 batting at Number 7.

Former Indian opening batter Virender Sehwag was known for providing fiery starts to Indian team. Sehwag’s fabulous strokeplay without much footwork has kept him at number 1 position in terms of leading six-hitters for India in test cricket. Virender Sehwag has played 104 test matches for India and has smashed 91 sixes, he scored 8586 runs in his 12-long career.
