PKL 10 Auction: Bengaluru Bulls use FBM to retain raider Vikash Kandola

He had been signed for Rs 1.67 crore last season by the same franchise.

Vikash Kandola, 25, has been retained by Bengaluru Bulls for Rs 55.25 lakh who used a FBM (Final Bid Match) card in the PKL season 10 auction. After signing him for Rs 1.67 crore last season, the 2018-19 champions have now acquired the services of the youngster for a lesser amount. He will once again join primary raider Bharat Hooda in the raiding department for the upcoming Pro Kabaddi League season.

The youngster from Haryana represented Bengaluru Bulls in PKL season 9 under the aegis of head coach Randhir Singh Sehrawat. He was bought by the franchise for 1.67 crore last season and was the costliest buy until Pawan Sehrawat broke the record with 2.26 crore.

However, Vikash had a sub-standard season registering less than 150 raid points. He was ably supported by Bharat Hooda who took over the primary raider baton.

Before shifting flanks to Bengaluru Bulls, Vikash was an integral part of Haryana Steelers and was their primary raider for four seasons. He started his PKL career with Dabang Delhi KC in 2016 but could play only four matches overall scoring three points. Ahead of season 5, Haryana Steelers bought Vikash Kandola and in his maiden season for the franchise, he scored 58 points.

He solidified his presence in the following season (season 6) by scoring 177 raid points in 22 matches and then enjoyed similar success in PKL season 7 by scoring 195 raid points.

In the six seasons he has participated so far, Vikash Kandola has failed to breach the 200 points mark and in the upcoming season 10, he will look to bring in a change to his game style. Overall, the player has scored 752 points and is close to reaching the 800-figure mark.
