The cup competition has a very long and illustrious history
The FA Cup, often referred to as the Football Association Challenge Cup, is a knockout tournament for English football that is run by and named for The Football Association (the FA). Given that was first played in the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest football competition still in existence. All teams in the top 10 tiers of the English football league system are eligible to participate, but their home stadium must first satisfy specific criteria in order to do so.
The FA Cup Final, formally known as The Football Association Challenge Cup Final Tie, which has historically been considered the grand climax of the English football season, takes place at the conclusion of the league season (often in May). Here is the List of all winners of the FA Cup.
