The SA vs AFG semi-final 1 will be played in Trinidad on June 26.

The Aiden Markram-led South Africa will face Rashid Khan’s Afghanistan in semi-final 1 at the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The match will be played at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad, on June 26 local time (June 27 Indian Standard Time).

After winning all four group matches, the Proteas dominated the Super 8 round as well by clinching victories in all three games. In Group 2 of the Super 8s, South Africa finished at the top with six points and qualified for the semi-finals at the ongoing global tournament.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan entered the T20 World Cup 2024 as dark-horses. They shook everyone by defeating New Zealand in the group and finished in second place with six points to qualify for the next round.

Afghanistan lost their first match against India in the Super 8 round. However, they bounced back to clinch their first win over Australia. Then Afghanistan edged Bangladesh by eight runs and reached the semi-finals for the time at the ICC T20 World Cup.

Reserve day rule for SA vs AFG semi-final 1 of T20 World Cup 2024:

Yes, there is reserve day (June 27) for the first semi-final between South Africa and Afghanistan, which will start at 8:30 p.m. local time on June 26 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad.

If rain makes an interruption during the high-voltage clash, then there will be an extra 60 minutes added on June 26. If a result cannot be achieved on June 26, then the match will resume on June 27. On the reserve day as well, a further 190 minutes have been allotted.
