Mumbai Indians' sister franchise MINY crowned inaugural champions of Major League Cricket (MLC)

MINY defeated Seattle Orcas in cracker of a final to lift the inaugural Major League Cricket (MLC) trophy.

The inaugural Major League Cricket final in the USA saw a majestic knock. MI New York captain Nicholas Pooran smashed 137 runs in 55 balls to chase down Seattle Orcas' 184 runs target in the final. Pooran’s innings powered MI New York to inaugural season victory in Major League Cricket. MI New York is Mumbai Indians sister franchise. MI New York skipper Nicholas Pooran smashed 10 fours and 13 sixes in his 55-ball innings to decimate the Orcas in the MLC Final.

Major League Cricket got huge traction from the crowd and on social media in its inaugural season and got a fitting end in the final. Batting first, Seattle Orcas posted 183 runs in 20 overs. Orcas' opener Quinton De Kock played a magnificent knock of 87 runs in 52 balls smashing 9 fours and 4 sixes. Orcas got a boost from Dwaine Pretorius at the end when he played a cameo of 21 runs in just 7 balls and put them in a stronger position. 

In response, the MI New York skipper decided to take the matter into his hand and smashed a 40-ball hundred against the Orcas. Pooran smashed 13 sixes in his innings and didn’t provide any chance to the Orcas bowlers who got early breakthroughs. Pooran kept his onslaught going on. Along with Nicholas Pooran, MI New York bowlers Rashid Khan and Trent Boult also played a crucial role in the team's win. Boult and Rashid picked up 3 wickets each in their quota of 4 overs. 

Mumbai Indians fans were jubilant after the MI New York victory. Nicholas Pooran became an overnight trend on social media after his knock. MI fans accepted this win as their own on social media. Earlier this year they failed to get their hands on SA20 with MI Capetown. Kieron Pollard also took his revenge and made a video call to Dwayne Bravo from the ground after MI New York were crowned champions of the Major League Cricket season one.
