WWE Money in the Bank could include some big last-minute matches.

WWE Money in the Bank 2024 is here, and it will take place on Saturday, July 6th, at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. It will be broadcast on Peacock in the United States, on the WWE Network throughout the world.

The main card will begin at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, with the pre-show starting at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. At the time of writing, five bouts had been confirmed for the Money in the Bank event, two of which were championship fights. The Money in the Bank ladder matches will be the PLE’s main focus this weekend. 12 Superstars have the opportunity to make history and claim the briefcase that might change the course of their whole career.

The men’s contest will include Jey Uso, Carmelo Hayes, Andrade, Chad Gable, LA Knight, and Drew McIntyre. The women’s team will include Iyo Sky, Chelsea Green, Lyra Valkyria, Tiffany Stratton, Naomi, and Zoey Stark. These matchups showcase a combination of experience and momentum. With the ladders in place, the Superstars could shine the brightest. These will undoubtedly be the matchups to watch, as they might set the tone for the next year.

But, let’s take a look at three more last-minute matches WWE can come up with before Money in the Bank 2024 PLE.

3. Awesome Truth vs Judgement Day – World Tag Team Championship

Since WrestleMania, none of the men’s Tag Team Championships has been defended at a premium live event. I would have penciled in DIY against A-Town Down Under in this space, but since the match is on SmackDown, it will not appear on WWE Money In The Bank.

That leaves Judgment Day, who won the championships from Awesome Truth on last week’s episode thanks to Liv Morgan’s help, and Awesome Truth, who have promised a rematch for their crowns. The rematch might be held on the PLE as a way to get the other Judgment Day members on the show.

2. Unholy Union vs Damage Ctrl – Women’s Tag Team Championship

Despite an expanding loud audience for Damage CTRL online, a narrative is now building with the members of the group on Raw. The premise has been that Dakota and Kairi fall short in their bids to win, while IYO continues to win, resulting in a lot of fan criticism online after Dakota got pinned by Zoey Stark on this week’s episode.

The finale occurred when Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn assaulted Dakota and Kairi in retaliation for their attack on the champions last week, potentially establishing the next rivals for the championships. The match might be added to WWE Money In The Bank, most likely as a kickoff match.

1. Rey Mysterio and Zelina Vega vs Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan

The Women’s Championship is currently held by Liv Morgan, who defended the title against Zelina Vega on Raw. However, another clear match was set up on the show: a future mixed tag team battle pitting Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan against Zelina Vega and Rey Mysterio.

Liv pledged to ‘repair’ things with Dom after unwittingly costing him his match against his father on Raw this week in a bid to win his heart. One method for Liv to make amends would be to organize a match at Money In The Bank, where she is responsible for assisting Dominik in securing his first victory over his father.
