The list is dominated by Premier League clubs

Real Madrid maintained its top position starting in 2022 while improving its worth by 19%; rivals Barcelona, who finished first in 2021, fell to third.

Only Real Madrid and Manchester United have consistently placed among the top five football clubs when Forbes started releasing its annual list of the world's wealthiest football clubs in 2004.

Newcastle United, however, has seen a valuation boost of 51% to $794 million as a result of their Saudi-backed takeover and Champions League qualification for the upcoming season.

Here are the top 10 most valuable clubs in world football according to Forbes.

10. Arsenal - $2.26bn (£1.8bn)

One of the Premier League teams to make it into the list of the ten wealthiest clubs in the world is Arsenal, perhaps the most well-known football club in Englan. The club has significant clout in the management in addition to having a well-known red shirt.

9. Tottenham Hotspur - $2.8bn (£2.2bn)

Throughout the past ten years, Tottenham Hotspur has grown to be a significant power in European football. They have one of the best stadiums in the world, an international talent-heavy lineup, and most recently made it to the champions league final in 2019.

Spurs' history wasn't filled with flowers and blossoms, either, as the team had a significant trophy slump from 1991 to 2008. But the club is now unquestionably among the top in the world.

8. Chelsea - $3.1bn (£2.5bn)

Chelsea, the second London-based team on our list, rose to prominence in the world of football financing after being acquired by Russian businessman Roman Abramovich in 2003.

Prior to 2022's Russian invasion of Ukraine, when Abramovic was obliged to part ways with the club, Chelsea had never-before-seen levels of achievement and was one of soccer's most well-known global brands.

7. Paris St-Germain - $4.21bn (£3.4bn)

When Paris Saint-Germain had a value worth €100 million in 2011, Qatar Sports Investments (which was controlled by the state of Qatar) bought the team and immediately made it one of the richest in the world.

With players Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar all on their roster, the Parisians currently have perhaps the most star-studded offensive lineup in the history of world football. Pay for that calibre of ability is not inexpensive. PSG, however, are strong for it.

6. Bayern Munich - $4.86bn (£3.9bn)

Bayern Munich are the just German club on our list, and they have a history of winning both locally and internationally. A club with a reputation for being well-run both on and off the pitch, they have enjoyed the financial benefits and are currently valued at more than $4.86bn.

They have continuously ranked among the top five richest football clubs according to Forbes, and that appears to be altering in the near future.

5. Manchester City - $4.99bn (£4bn)

Sheikh Mansour, a member of the ruling family of Abu Dhabi and the deputy prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, bought the club.

Having football talents like Jack Grealish, Kevin de Bruyne, and Erling Harland each receiving multi-million dollar salary packages each year, Manchester City have one of the largest payroll bills in the world. But since money speaks, City have repaid its affluent owners on the pitch. Since Sheikh Mansour's arrival in 2008, they have amassed six Premier League titles.

4. Liverpool - $5.29bn (£4.2bn)

Supporters of Liverpool, turn away now. The Reds are ranked fourth on our list after losing to fierce rivals Man United. Don't let your sadness last, though.

For the first occasion since 2009, Liverpool FC has reclaimed a spot among the top five wealthiest football clubs in the world. Under Jürgen Klopp, capturing the Premier League and the Champions League has turned into economic prosperity as well; the club is one of a select few with an estimated value of over £4.2 billion.

3. Barcelona - $5.51bn (£4.4bn)

There are few rivalries larger than Barcelona vs. Real, but sadly for Barcelona supporters, their rivals from Real Madrid surpass them to the top spot. The Catalan club's prominence on this chart is a reflection of their strong brand recognition and wide appeal.

The club's current financial crisis and debt load are enough to bring tears to your eyes, but the Barca name is well-known, and its assets are still valued at an astounding $5 billion.

2. Manchester United - $6bn (£4.8bn)

Because football grew into a massive corporate industry in the 1990s, the club, one of the most well-known teams in the world of football, has had unmatched dominance in the English league.

The club has the biggest salary bill in the Premier League and has made enormous investments in an effort to regain its former glory. But the club hasn't lifted the Premier League since 2013, and glory has proved unattainable.

1. Real Madrid - $6.07bn (£4.9bn)

The most financially successful football clubs in the world are topped by the most prosperous club in European championships, which is appropriate.

Real Madrid have won an unprecedented 14 Champions League championships, and its renowned all-white uniform is adored and recognised throughout the world.

The Real Madrid brand stood apart from any of its football rivals thanks to star players, elite coaches, one of the most illustrious stadiums in the world, and unparalleled success.
