The Indian football fraternity reacted as Igor Stimac parted ways with Indian football team.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced a significant shakeup to the leadership of the Men’s National Team on June 17th, 2024. Following a virtual meeting, AIFF officials acknowledged the team’s underwhelming performance in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 qualification campaign. In a decisive move to improve the team’s fortunes, a unanimous decision was reached to terminate the contract of current head Coach – Igor Stimac.
The announcement also confirmed the departure of current head coach Igor Stimac. The AIFF issued a formal notice of termination, effectively ending his tenure with immediate effect. The federation expressed gratitude for Stimac’s contributions to the national team during his time as head coach and wished him well in his future endeavors.
